Baby are you down, down, down, down, down?

CT is officially over for IBZ!

Our course is so awesome that our Common Test period spans less than a day! From 1330h yesterday till 1000h today, that is definitely less than 24 hours. And we completed 2 papers which require quite a bit of memory. But we did it, 'cause we're IBZ! :)

I finally went to submit my iDare application form after IHRM paper today. After that, left school with Charlene, Ewen, and Syikin for L4D2! It's been some time since we last played. Swamp Fever is really difficult to get through. We kept dying, LOL.

My heart shines! Hahaha. =)

Waffletown after EBA paper yesterday! Haven't had it since really really long ago.

2 night ago, attempted the curling method taught by Xiaxue.

I ended up looking like this haha!

And I went to bed as Chun Li! LOLOL.

I like the amount of free time I have on hand now. Quite a number of things I wanna do.

Ohhhh yes. I've something to announce!

I HAVE DECIDED TO START A NEW BLOG!

Yes, I'll switch to blogging on that site once it's done up and functional. Feeling kinda excited about it. Will inform you guys again once it's ready to be shown to the world! ^^

Projects Down!

For the time being. More to come next term.

Yesterday was the deadline of our IP and ITP projects. IP was fine, we wrapped it up days before. ITP was more difficult to tackle, pretty much a killer for us. Lena, Charlene, Ewen, Syikin, Jia Huan and me stayed in school for literally the whole day on Thursday. We only left when the school started switching off the lights and the security began chasing students home. That was about half past 10 at night. So we went home and continued. And finally, our report was completed in the wee hours of the morning! ^^

You would never be able to imagine the kind of relief when we're done with it. We could really peacefully go into deep slumber. But then, I woke up 3 hours later. I could have just skipped EBA lecture to make up for my sleep, but I didn't wanna miss out on the revision lecture. So yea, and there was IP presentation to prepare for.

Oh, and our group was the LAST to go up. So throughout the presentations of other groups, we didn't know if we should sleep or not. I got Tumblr to occupy me. And by the end of everything, we were all like this, =.=.

Anyway just to digress a bit, we were all so tired struggling to finish the report during the night that I actually typed 'Rotterdam' as 'RotterDAMN'! And I didn't even realised it until Ewen told me about it! Retarded mistake LOL.

Projects down, common tests next week! Just started on revision today, thank Rottergod (project group inside joke) we only got 2 papers. Some of my friends have 5 papers like freaking WOW! 1 paper for each module. GG.

And I'll leave you with my awesomeness. As I mentioned, I only slept 3 hours that morning, hence the palpable eyebags! :D

Can't wait to get over and done with the 2 papers! Then I'm gonna work, shop, and go out with family! A lot of things I needa get! Till then for tonight! Nights world. :)

Hi people, time seems to get by even faster as we age. We're entering December real soon. REAL REAL SOON. Like JUST 7 fucking minutes. So I'm gonna spam you with all my awesomeness!

Hmm, not really a lot! I'm kind enough to spare you from having to look at this ugly witch for even longer. Haha!

And it means, there's only 31 days to 2011. Really too fast, man. I haven't had enough time to grow up. But lost time can never be recovered. I've got to make the last 31 days of 2010 really meaningful. :)

Stocked up today. The best baby cereals and rusks. :)

Made French toasts and prata for brunch on Saturday. It was my virgin attempt at making French toasts, not bad eh!

That day morning I woke up and realised Orange fell off my bed again 'cause it's not by my side. And when I was about to stretch my hand to get it up, Hera was resting her head comfortably on it! I just let her be, 'cause this is just too cute.

Deadlines for projects drawing nearer, common test is round the corner too. And soon it will be Christmas! I got quite some stuff to get, hope there will be some free time after CT. I'm looking forward to BAMP as well! Sad that my Slut Mama (aka DaRren) will not be joining us 'cause he'll be at Europe! But there will be other awesome SCOs around! All of us rock the (IM)BA Society!

Don't Want An End To This

So far, the first week of school is over, and I'm back home for a week as well. School schedule seems pretty relaxing for this semester, since we already covered 2 modules in China. ^^ This allows for more revision I guess.

I kinda don't want this October to end, because till now, this has been the best month of 2010 for me. Quite a number of good things occured during this month. And not to mention, all that fun we had in Shanghai, especially the nightlife. PHEBE IS DA SEX! Seriously, I really really enjoy it. But well, time waits for no man. Today will have to go and tomorrow will welcome us. Or rather, we would welcome tomorrow. It's gonna be the last day of this month tomorrow, I'm going to make it worth the while! XD

HELLO from China!

YES I AM CURRENTLY IN CHINA. Shanghai, to be precise.

So sorry to anyone who still visits this long-neglected site. I was previously caught up with school exams and right after that was preparation for the trip here. That was why I didn't really update, AND! Internet previously at Xiamen wasn't that good, so I decide to leave everything till I have better connection. And TADA! The internet here at Shanghai University's dorm is awesome. I am also slowly uploading the truckloads of pictures taken onto Facebook - something that was quite impossible back at Xiamen 'cause I kept getting disconnected. ^^

And I suddenly got the drive to come back here 'cause it's 10.10.10! Alright, actually I don't really see the significance of this day at first (to most it will be because it's only gonna occur once in their entire lifetime?). But, I am here today to proudly declare that:

I HAVE OFFICIALLY SURVIVED 7 DAYS IN SHANGHAI! PLUS 2 WEEKS IN XIAMEN PREVIOUSLY. ^^

Also, maybe it will also be kinda nice to say hello after being MIA for such a long time, and find back the motivation to blog on this day. I haven't lost the passion to blog, I am just not motivated enough! After such a long hiatus, guess it's really time to get back to what I used to do and love to do. :D

2 more weeks to go and it's home sweet home! Wonder why I'm here for so long? It's actually my course's immersion trip hahaha. Even if it's for holiday, I won't be staying for more than a month! This place kinda turns most of us into angsty kids. Shall talk more about that next time!

I can't wait to go home seriously. I miss Singapore. I miss my family. I miss Hera. I miss all the SCOs! And I miss you too. Looking forward to the surprise you told me about. :) And we really need to catch up after I get back 'cause you'll be leaving for Japan a week after my return, LOL.

Alright, I needa get going. Gonna meet group mates for our awesome project man! Yea I'm feeling quite positive rifght now. It's a good thing 'cause it keeps me going in such an environment. Till then peeps! XD

Thanks to Omy once again, I got the opportunity to catch Step Up 3D before it officially goes onscreen on 19 August! This time the lucky guest is....

I brought him along since this awesome movie is at the top of his must-watch list! Free tickets came at the right moment and for the right show! ^^

I was totally awed by Step Up 3D! It is definitely a great showcase of dance talents, featuring various dance styles and influences such as African, Ballet, B Boy, Bollywood, Breaking, Capoeira, Hip Hop, Locking, Popping, Tango, Tap and Parkour. Not to mention, the dances were accompanied by wonderful soundtracks that make you wanna jump up from your seat and move with the groove! Some of my favourites include: Already Taken by Trey Songz, No Te Quiero by Sophia Del Carmen, Club Can't Handle Me by Flo Rida, This Girl by Laza Morgan, My Own Step by T-Pain and Irresistable by Wisin Y Yandel. =D

YES, this is a movie that's all about dance, with people dancing throughout the show. But this is exactly what dance lovers, dancer or audience, are expecting! Be prepared to be wowed by the fantamazing (even fantastic and amazing combined could not describe it well enough!) dance moves. I heard people commenting about the 'sick' moves after watching the trailer. EXACTLY! Sick is just the the word. You would not believe your eyes as the dancers stun you with all their master techniques. It's almost right before your eyes in 3D! This is why you just have to catch Step Up 3D!

Of course, the dances aside, there is a story to every movie. Step Up 3D is no exception. Luke, who is like the leader of House of Pirates, was enchanted by Natalie, a mysterious street dancer. He soon got to know her and both of them even shared intimate moments together. Little did he know that Natalie has a secret that could threaten their relationship and the chances of House of Pirates to win the World Jam Championship. I shan't be a spoiler and YOU SHALL WATCH STEP UP 3D AND FIND OUT YOURSELF. :D

Overall, I will rate Step Up 3D 4.5 stars for its awesomeness! I was completely captivated by the dancers and I don't mind watching it again! However, I feel that the 3D effect isn't that prominent as compared to other 3D shows that I have been to. But other than this very very minor downside, Step Up 3D is a must-watch-by-hook-or-by-crook!! For those who have caught the previous 2 series of Step Up, all the more you should definitely not miss this! YOU WILL LOVE IT.

Yup, these are baby food that you are seeing now. Not that there's a baby or what. But I'm so happy that I found Farley's Rusks today! It is like my favouritest baby food since young and I haven't seen it around for a long time! Also got the other stuff as well 'cause of the cute packaging, hahaha. :D

Caesar Salads & Ice-cream Mountains Y

Met up with Gerald and he wanted ice-cream! Hazelnut only. LOL. And we happened to walk past Swensen's so in we went! Initially we only intended to have ice cream. But he said since we were already there, let's just have dinner as well. Hahaha totally impromptu!

And so we had caesar salads, which already made us quite full before the ice-cream. And I feel more unhealthy instead 'cause of the rich salad dressing and our after-meal indulgence.

I will be working for Avira for PC Show from tomorrow till this Sunday (13 June). It will be at Suntec City Convention Hall, Level 6. See you there!

**Avira is a German company selling antivirus softwares and this is their first time entering the Singapore market. I'm currently trying out its Premium Security Suite, which can considered the best out of its 3 types of softwares as it includes the most number of functions to protect your computer against external attacks. I have been using for about a week and it hasn't given me any problems, unlike some other antivirus softwares. Well, I will be doing a review on Avira soon, so stay tuned!

Meanwhile, you can come down to the PC Show to have a look! Avira's softwares are going off at discounted prices, and it's only for these 4 days! There will be promoters to explain the benefits of Avira to you in detail. :)

Gina, Jasmine, Wendy and I had a discussion earlier on to decide on our 'small talk' topics for tomorrow's BComm networking assessment. Apparently we need to have some casual conversation before going into business proper, hence the 'small talk'.

I was late for the discussion and they were already discussing about Kpop with very much enthusiasm! Hahaha my daughter Gina knows me best. (refer to picture above)

Hectic week ahead, packed with deadlines for various projects. Following this week will be common test. And I haven't really revised. :(

But but but! After common test it will be term break! ^^ And good news. Bertrand told me that our team is selected to be the SCOs for next year's BAOC! Just hope that I will be able to cope with all the commitments. :)

During those 2 months, when it was the hardest, you stood by me. Everything did not seem so bad because of your presence. We could talk throughout the whole day, and just talking to you is enough to make me happy. :) You were like an angel, a guardian angel. 10th week.

Maybe I'm not completely over it. Feels as though it just occured yesterday. I just keep thinking about things that happened 10 weeks ago and before.

This is what I did for IMK lecture today.

This was what I was doing throughout the whole International Marketing lecture.

If you look closely, I had been either liking or commenting on the photos of YAMANDA KORY! Bertrand as well! We were lamenting how boring our lessons were. LOL. Okay, I must admit that Bert's lecture was way more boring! Maybe partly 'cause I don't like calculations. Imagine 4 pages! OMFG.

I tried poking for my mum's response regarding the contract last night. But she didn't say anything much! Think I shall officially pop the question to her tomorrow. :)

What are BFFs for?

It's been some time since I stop believing in 'Best Friend Forever'.
Yet every now and then, I just can't help but yearn for one.

Sometimes when I see other girls who always have their BFFs with them, I'm kinda envious. I wish there is someone who I can always hang out with; someone who will bitch with me; someone who can talk with me over the phone for hours; someone who I can completely pour my heart to, knowing that it's just between the both of us.

That kind of sisterly love that warms the heart.

I used to have someone this close to me too. Thought we would be 'sisters forever'.
But CRAP.

That one incident made me lose trust in almost everybody. From then on, I don't reveal the inner side of me to others easily. All they see and know is just the surface. This kind of feeling sucks even more than being betrayed by a lover. I still remember how much tears I used to shed over it. Thinking back, I was kinda silly. Why bother crying over someone who is pushing you away?

For the past few years, I became much more independent. 'Cause you can't rely on just anybody. Learnt to let things go. Saw it through that 'friends' are not forever. Thought I pretty much succeeded in this. But then when I'm at my low points, I still yearn for someone to be by my side, listen to me confide, and even lend me shoulders for crying. The feeling of feeling so alone, it gets quite scary at times.

So the girl broke up with her boyfriend. But at least she has her BFF and other close girlfriends with her to pull through the hard times.

What about me?

Have told myself to 'Let go. Don't turn back. Don't look back. Move on."

I'm so afraid that I'll make the mistake of turning back, just because I need someone to rely on at my most vulnerable.

I think my life sucks pretty much, though everything appears so beautiful on the surface.

Year 2, Day 1

So I'm officially a Year 2 now. :)

I still remember on the first day of Year 1, I was kinda lost when I stepped into the classroom (still remembered it was BComm class!) 'cause there was no one from the same high school as me. Though I got to know some of my coursemates at the orientation already, we were still not that close.

And 1 year went past just like that. Anyway Daniel Yee, you cannot call me a freshie anymore! I recall when I just started working at OC, you called me Freshie when I told you I was in Year 1. NOT ANYMORE HAHA.

After school, met up with Gerald and we headed to town. I had been having this mad craving for Shokudo's waffles so we visited Shokudo yet again!

Also decided to try their thick toast, but was utterly disappointed. The bread is damn hard and dry.

Having tried their crepes, waffles and thick toast, I still think waffles are the best among the 3. Crepes were average only. Thick toast - not worth mentioning.

I shoot you shooting me. LOL.

Tried their ramen for the first time. Was walking around the restaurant to see what else we could try. I saw the ramen and thought of the roadside ramen I had in Japan and suddenly wanted to have a taste of it again. Of course, there was still quite some difference between the 2.

If you noticed, we had our meal in reverse order: Desserts before main course. Hahaha. We only intended to have desserts at first.

Walked about at Taka and Wisma after a sumptious meal. Stocked up on some necessities at Watson's. Love Watson's for their awesome discounts. I'm a sucker for discounts LOL. :)

p.s. It absolutely sucks that I can't access the course documents of most of the modules, 'cause we are not yet enrolled for the modules on the Blackboard system yet. Kinda killing my motivation to study. FML.

Drifting in and out, in and out.

Woke up at noon today. One of the rare days that I could get to sleep in this late LOL. I think I'm not really sleeping actually. I had a lot of dreams. Nice ones, weird ones. Everything. And it's also been some time since I last actually slept throughout the night till I really woke up. As in, from the moment I shut my eyes till the time I woke, no disruptions in between. These days I am always drifting in and out of my dreams. And it totally sucks when it is a good, sweet dream going on.

Had another nice dream today. :) It was kinda like a sequel to a dream previously, but longer. :D But this time, I knew it was a dream 'cause it's too long to be true. LOL!

School's starting real soon. 7 weeks gone just like that.

BAOC Day 1 - Vivacious Vikings!

It's the annual freshman orientation for the School of BA. This year's theme is The Clash of The Empires and I'm in Vikings, together with most other IBZ people! :)

The freshmen in my group don't seem quite enthusiastic. Hopefully I'm wrong about them and that they will be better tomorrow! Maybe it's the unbearable hot weather that's causing everyone to feel lethargic. 'Cause I don't feel that zest in myself too.

2 more long days to go. Thinking on the bright side, it's a good thing 'cause it takes my mind off certain things. It's only the first day and I'm already feeling so shagged. I think by the last day, I will be too tired to think about anything.

I'm such an ultra camwhore that I can do it anytime, anywhere. Even when waiting for Audrey in the washroom. And looking so pale. LOL.

Guess you would be too tired to come online tonight. It's actually a good thing. You are finally getting your well-deserved break after busying yourself out for the past few months. :)

Chris' 16th Birthday Celebration

After today, I realised that the most difficult hurdle to get across is actually myself. I won't be able to move far if I keep on dwelling on the past. And yes, I finally found the answer to the 'something'. Enlightened. :)

Singapore Dance Delight Vol. 1 Preliminaries: Review

Dance Delight has finally come to the shores of Singapore!

Yongwei (iamnotfat.net) and I caught the first ever Singapore Dance Delight last Saturday, 27 March 2010!

Together with F&N, omy.sg is organising a blogging challenge, in conjunction with the F&N's Singapore Dance Delight (http://www.dancedelight.sg). 6 bloggers will be selected to compete for a 3D3N Osaka trip to cover the finals in Japan, with accommodation and Dance Delight tickets provided, worth over S$2800. The other 5 selected bloggers will also each win a HTC Touch II phones for their effort.

It was an outdoor affair held just outside Takashimaya Shopping Centre. Look at the congested street outside the malls.

We were quite lucky to be able to get near the front of the stage. This is the emcee for the night, and also the boss of Sexy Diamond.

The prelims continued after honouring the Earth Hour for 15 minutes.

After all 28 groups had performed, the host began his one-man show!

Elimination & Substitution

I come to realise that when something is eliminated from our lives, there is a tendency for us to look for a substitute. Maybe to fill up the void, so that it doesn't seem so empty altogether. Or maybe just to occupy your time and yourself.

It is a cruel cycle. Elimination is the primary process, while substitution, the secondary. Elimination seems painful on the surface; but I think that the impact of the latter goes even deeper. How would you like being a sub-in for something else?

You would probably agree that it should not occur. But then again, human nature is such that most of us grow to become reliant on that particular something in our lives, which over time becomes PART of our lives. Without that something, you just cannot function properly. You don't feel motivated to do anything, you lose the drive to accomplish your tasks. In short, that something pushes you forward and adds the 'Oomph!' to your life.

And therefore, people who can't live without that extra Oomph in their life will turn to using substitutes. Yes, USING. Because the subs are literally being used to achieve something in the person's life, as mentioned in the very first para. Poor subs, how would they feel when they discover that they are merely substitutes of the original stuff. Ouch factor times 18427536934023.

Looks like the algebra techniques I learnt way back in Sec 2 actually has useful (plus hurtful) applications in real life situations too.

Out of Place

Yea I feel kinda out of place today, even though I'm alone most of the time. Somehow like I don't belong to this world. Just today. I guessed it all started after I woke up from some weird and bizzare dream, and my heart pounding rather quickly for no reason. It was no nightmare or anything thrilling. I remember waking up and lying back on the bed and wished I could fall back asleep.

If possible, I should have just slept through the whole of today. Because all of a sudden, I'm thinking about all those things again. Maybe it's 'cause of what I saw and read last night. He told me that I have to let go of everything if I wanted to leave. Easier said than done. Isn't it ironic? When our friends come crying to us, we give them all the advice like some experts. But when we face the same problem, somehow it's just so hard for us to follow the very same advice that we gave?

Life is full of such ironies that it makes me want to laugh.

The Martin Show

Today was our DSS presentation. I suppose everything went pretty smoothly, and now all hopes are on Amy to give us at least an A. X fingers.

School ends early on Wednesday. But got to attend to project and other stuff. In the end, only reached home in the evening. Evening is actually not that late, but not so for my feet, which had been tolerating 3-inch plus heels since 8 in the morning!

Chinese New Year is fast approaching! Basically I got my clothes ready, just need to get one more top, shoes and stock up on essentials. Working for an event tomorrow! Cheers to kaching! ^^

Happy 21st, Diyana!

It was ex-colleague Diyana's 21st birthday yesterday and she invited some of us from OC to her birthday celebration at Costa Sands Pasir Ris. There were many others birthday celebrations going on as well and the resort was so crowded. Not to mention, smoky and stuffy as well with all the BBQ going on simultaneously.

The birthday celebration also served as a little gathering for those of us who attended. Diyana the birthday girl was so busy throughout. I do not have any pictures of the celebration so here are just things that happened after we left.

Songyi, the one who knows where the good food are. ^^ And she needs an average of 2 to 3 coffee fixes a day.

I bet most of us have seen it coming, but just didn't expect it to be so soon. I guess perhaps FEO realise that we are too expensive to maintain. Moreover, our presence doesn't really seem to help with the mall's progress. (It's definitely Marketing's problem, not ours!)

Quoting Emma, 'If I knew it's coming so soon, I'd have chiong (during the 2-week term break)!'

And we are left with 3 days to milk our last cents out of Far East. Go people! A part-time job that pays you $8/hour isn't easy to come by out there!

2009: A Year Full of First-times

Though not as eventful and 'dramatic' as the previous year, it doesn't mean that this year hasn't been a good one. In fact, perhaps a peaceful year has helped to create the various opportunities for me to try out things that I have never done or experienced before. This year is definitely one that is 'first-times aplenty'.

1) While waiting for the poly's school term to start, I got my first job at the Singapore Science Centre. It was a great experience working there. Though that pay might be a little lower than my current job, I actually prefer the environment there. The 10 weeks I spent there were filled with fun and joy. At least, I felt happy working there.

2) Thanks to Zoe, I had my first attempt at being a hair model. Of course, I was very nervous when I stepped into Von's salon for the hair makeover since I am a greenhorn.

3) My first photoshoot in June with Samantha. Actually taking the hair modelling shoot into account, this should be my second shoot. I remember how scorching hot the sun was that it actually left obvious tanlines on my shoulder and feet after that. Then shortly after this, both of us had another session at Pasir Ris Park with Jay, whom Sammy claimed resembles Jay Chou to some extent.

4) First time working as a concierge, or CSO to some. The idea of mobile concierge at Orchard Central is also the first in the world. The good thing about this job is that I get to meet people from all walks of life. Talking to some of them is interesting too. It is good money as well. However, it can get really boring sometimes when crowd is scarce, you know.

5) Virgin attempt at doing advertorial. I was surprised when Kizz of Goddess actually approached me to advertise for them, because my blog is like a 'nobody's blog'. On top of the advertising payment, the sweet lady bosses even gave me one of their dresses which I love!

6) Worked for an event for the very first time, credits to Regine. I worked for Remy Martin at a HPA event, Colours of Asia. Got to know Bernice, who has been in the industry for some time. It was another good experience as I got to met people of high net worth, a few of whom gave me very good advice about my future.

7) My first time going overseas without my parents by my side: IBZ's KL-Malacca trip and the Business Explorer trip to Japan.

8) Not to mention, it was also my first time flying to Japan. This trip is definitely one fo the most memorable events in my life this year. We had so much fun and didn't feel like coming back! Quoting Charlene, 'Japan is home!' Hahaha. ^^

There are more, but just to name a few significant ones. :) It's always exciting to do something for the first time.

Anyway, I'm off to welcome next year with the crowd! You guys have fun, and happy new year in advance!

How'd You Like This?

A brand new layout as mentioned previously. Just in time for arrival of Year 2010, haha. Same designer, Esther Chia, or more affectionately known as Ice Angel to most. Most of her creations were in pink, but I adore this most as it is in a more subtle tone of pink. And the brush effects just complement the images so well!

Meanwhile, not everything is ready. In the midst of hunting out new pictures for Cheryl Galore. :)

Anyway, how are you all going to spend the last moments of this year leading to 2010? I haven't come to a decision yet. Received Reuben's invitation to his countdown party today, so maybe I'll go. Haha. After all, it's always fun to countdown to a brand new year as a congregation. ^^

Is that procrastination or?

Have so much stuff to update about, yet I'm always pushing it to the so-called 'tomorrow', which I myself won't have any idea if it would come. Let me see... Christmas events, my Japan stories, exam retreat and loads!

I guess I can just compile everything into one journal-magazine and publish it for sale already lor! Not a bad idea right? Can still earn extra income.

Procrastination at work. The power of it all.

Alright, while catching up has to be done, let me fill you in about yesterday! Yesterday = one day before today = happened most recently = fresh updates.

Work story time.
For the past few days, supervisor and full-timers were clearing their annual leave (Stupid FEO said cannot push it to next year as it will mean lots of work for the HR or Finance.). Without these 'pillars' of the OC concierge team, there was chaos. Not literally, but everyone was just not doing work. In other words, 'eating snake' (in Chinese terms).

Everyday, each of us will be assigned to a ceratin level of the mall to carry out our duties. This is usually done by the full-timer or the one who reaches the counter earliest. This assignment of levels will be recorded on a tablesheet, which the Management will also receive a copy. Similarly, there is also a table for filling up break times.

Without Boss around, we didn't go to our assigned floors, but the assigned level sheet will still be filled up, like for show or something. Break-time sheet was empty; we just went for breaks whenever we felt hungry or something. For yesterday, we didn't even have assigned levels! The funny thing was, the Management didn't even know that we were not working. Or perhaps they discovered, but were just lazy to check.

These few days at work must have been our best 'working' moments. No standing at the same spot for 2 hours and having to stare into black space if crowd was pathetic; no need to endure the boredom of standing at secluded areas, eg. Basement 2, Level 10, Level 11. Most of the time, we were just hanging out in the counter storeroom. Chats, gossips, jokes, magazines, tabloids, Facebook, Youtube and even food when we got too bored.

Some even went to shop at 313@Somerset, which is just next to us. Done openly too, 'cause as long as you are not wearing the jacket, you are considered 'off-duty'. Two of the guys even went for a movie on Saturday, LOL!

What I/we did today:
- Arrived late for work at 11 plus as I overslept, but nobody cares.
- Had breakfast in storeroom while the rest were in there too.
- Went out to help a little with the lucky draw redemption. For a short while only.
- Played Restaurant City using the counter's Macbook since there weren't many shoppers.
- Took the EQ Quiz on Facebook as well. My result is an EQ of 143.
- Went out with Joanna at 3 plus to UOB as she wanted to create an account. Bought cookie puffs from Icing Room on the way back since I haven't had lunch. We returned nearly an hour later.
- Had my yummy puffs. Then accompanied Serene to B2 to get the delicious Pisang balls from the Peranakan stall. But they were sold out! So she got tako balls instead while I tried the Japanese pizza.
- More slacking in the storeroom after the PM staff came.
- Went to 313 for dinner with Jovene and Reuben at 7 plus. After a sinful meal at KFC, we shopped at F21, Mango, and Zara. Didn't see anything we fancy, sadly.
- Left 313 and accompanied the both of them to smoke at carpark. Finally returned after an hour plus.
- I tried accessing the Internet with my laptop, but connection was really bad in the storeroom! In the end, read magazines instead.
- Nearing 11pm, pack up time!
- Slightly after 11pm, knocked off offically! Took train home with Reuben.

Our best days at work, really. Working again tomorrow and it will be the last day of such happy moments 'cause Boss returning on Thursday.

Merry Christmas, babes & dudes!

Apologies for leaving this space stagnant for quite a period of time. Also, sorry that there are no Christmas songs for this year. 'Cause recently Imeem has integrated into MySpace, and I'm trying to figure out the features. It seems that I can't embed music from there now.

P.S. I don't like this change at all! Not a MySpace user from the start and now I still have to sign up for a MySpace account just to access the music. Worse is that my previous playlists were all gone! Though they said they are restoring it now.

Apparently, most songs were gone too! I can't find the nice songs that I used to find on Imeem. Either they were completely removed, or they only have it in remix versions. And most songs definitely are better in their original states.

Annoying stuff aside, updates coming real soon! And I'm planning to change a layout too, after sticking with the current template for 2 years. I feel like getting something pink! ^^

Still very much in love with Japan...

Though it's back to 'reality' for now, I can't seem to get enough of Japan. And I don't think I ever will. ^^

Was pleasantly surprised today when I went to Co-op to grab some snacks for lecture. Saw these adorable sweeties in the shop! And they are really made in Japan! What pisses me off most of the time is when I saw some Japanese product (eg. Hello Kitty!) and you turn to the bottom of that product only to realise that it is MADE IN CHINA. -.-

No offence to China though, I understand all the shit about cheap manpower. And I know I will have to go through a hardcore usage of all the MIC products comes the 6-week Shanghai immersion trip next year. Angels bless me.

Hey yo! I'm back!

Plane touched down at about 11.45pm last night, arrived home at close to 0200h this morning. Thanks Ling for being at the Arrival Hall to welcome me back while the others had their family members with them. It's always nice to see someone being there for you when you are back from some foreign land. :)

Apologies for not updating as I did not have convenient access to Web services. Felt quite cheated about having to bring my laptop over when I discovered that the hotel room does not even have an Internet cable. You can only use their charged Internet service at the lobby, at the rate of 100 Yen for every 10 minutes, which is like WTF. -.-

Anyway, all of us enjoyed the whole trip, and felt a little sad to leave Tokyo. 'Cause it's like jolting awake from a really good dream. Hmm, shall be back again to tell you more. Loads of photos await! ^^

Bon Voyage, Chris the Retard.

Although I don't really like the presence of you at home ('cause you are damn inconsiderate like a typical PRC citizen by talking loudly on the phone and turning on your speakers at very high volumes), I still hope that you will reach China and return in one piece. You will be flying off in a less than half an hour so I don't think you'll get to see this until after you are back. And of course, my dearest sis, who is in Las Vegas has to come home safe and sound too. :)

There's only 4 days before I leave for Japan as well. I think our parents will be damn bored at home 'cause all 3 of us are abroad. Or perhaps they may be rejoicing over it? Haha, quiet moments for the couple. :D

This week is a busy one. Firstly there is the preparation for the japan study trip, which was almost done. Then there will be tests on Law and POA. In addition there are 3 enrichment talks/programs that I signed up for, just for CCA points hahaha. Friday is especially hectic. IS in the morning, followed by a trip to the museum for some assignment, then will be the trip to Udder's company which ends at 4 plus. After that, I have to rush home to prepare for my flight in the late evening!

Shucks. Why am I even blabbering so much here? I should be studying for my Law test now!

No longer asymmetrical!

Met up with Ling after work and we went to the hairdresser's together. I got the hair stylist to trim off the assymetrical part from the previous makeover style and also got rid of the damaged ends. My hair is now more manageable!

We got our hair fixed at La Coco hair salon! My hairstylist was Jamey. Really love what she did to my hair. It was just what I wanted! Before she started, she also discussed with me on how she would go about, which I think is essential so that we can both communicate our ideas. Anyway, the pictures above don't really show what my hair was like right after I stepped out of the salon. It was supposedly looking bouncier because they used the hairdryer to create more volume.

They charged me $35, which is the student price. However, I didn't have to pay a cent as I utilised their voucher, which covered way more than this amount. :) Their service was really good, I will consider going back there again.

After enjoying the pampering hair service, off we went to stock up on necessities!

My lens essentials and some hair products.

Decided to try Lucidol-L since I often see recommendations and demo of this brand in magazines. Tried the tester hair oil in the store and it smells pleasant! And I'm a sucker for nice-smelling products.

Compact enough for travel too! Which is partly why I eventually bought it. ^^

And I feel happy when I spend. Retail therapy works to a large extent for Cheryl.

“A Christmas Carol” starring Jim Carrey opening in Singapore cinemas 19th November 2009

Once again, special thanks to Omy for allowing me to have the privilege to enjoy this Christmas-season show in advance!

Maximum thankfulness + elation! ^^

Initially I planned to bring Mum to the movie preview since the invite is for two. However, she was not feeling well so I got Chris to be her substitute.
This is the card containing our tickets to entrance! :)

Overall, the movie was great! I shall just talk briefly about the storyline, you can check out the synopsis at the official website if you are interested alright!

Protagonist, Ebenezer Scrooge (JIM CARREY), is a miserly and ill-tempered old man, who spends the Christmas season unlike everyone else in the town. True to his name, he is a complete scrooge, and never likes the idea of giving (esp during Christmas, the season of giving). However, he underwent a 180 degrees change when he was visited by the Ghosts of Christmas, who took him on a journey which reveal truths that he had been reluctant to face.

This is definitely a must-watch film during this Christmas season! There is also one thing that I must rave about here - the 3D effects! It was fabulous! Everything felt so surreal, as if you were a part of the production as well. And most people out there would certainly love to have this kind of interaction with the characters in the show too!

With the 3D imaging being one of the selling points here, the music and story plot deserve a round of compliments too! I really like how the story ends with a nice twist at the end, when we witnessed a complete change in Scrooge's characteristics. It does bring a smile to me when I see the old man initiating a pay rise for his clerk and dancing merrily in his shop.

Happy endings may be cliche, but that's what we love after all, no?

The end of the movie preview was not all, we were asked to stay for an interview by Omy. And I saw Silver Ang! She's so pretty in real life. Anyway, Han Joo was looking for someone who can do the interview in Mandarin as most of us are not so fluent in Mandarin. And Silver saved the day! Oh my, she can speak in Chinese really fluently, despite this being impromtu.

To add on, the organisers were really sweet to give us these goodies! I reckon they are Christmas gifts for us since it was the movie preview of 'A Christmas Carol'. That explains it!

Last piercing stud cleared!

I'm studying Macro Econs and got really bored. So I decided to try my luck with removing the stud of my 5th ear piercing. It has been there since the day the piercing was made. Have tried to remove it many times but the studs they use nowadays have this double-lock thing, which makes it more difficult 'cause you need to pull a lot harder.

And I finally managed to get it out! Okay no big deal to some of you, but I'm really happy about it. This means that I can wear other studs on this particular piercing already!

p.s. The stud is truly made of stainless steel, it still looks clean and shiny after having been stuck there for more than a year! I was still expecting to see some unsightly stuff on it, LOL. Alright time to get back to Macros!

A little sense of panic currently...

It's only a few minutes to the next day. I'm preparing the things that I need for the course trip to KL and Malacca over the weekend. We are also going to have a BBQ and stayover at The Loft tomorrow night so that we can set off on time comes Saturday morning. Actually there isn't much to pack for a few-days trip. But I'm just afraid that I might forget something here and there.

Never mind, I shall get the things ready now and double check again when I'm setting off tomorrow evening.

Queenie, please remind your dear twin not to forget her handphone + charger, wallet with the right currency, and what else.... YES! The most important thing, PASSPORT! Okay I have to turn in now 'cause school starts at 0800h and Ms Eugenia only gives us a grace period of 10 minutes!

It's that time of the month, again!

I'm referring to pay day, otherwise would I have been so gleeful? I've hit the 4-digit! What's even surprising was that there was no CPF deduction for this month, so the supposedly to be deducted amount sort of came as a bonus. Haha. :D

And this whole thing is going in to my funds for the Japan study mission. Totally looking forward to it! Anyway, I have been watching the currency recently and the Yen seems to be going down at a steady rate! Hope it continues like this for a longer time. ^^

We selected our Sports & Wellness module today. I was a little late and by the time I reached the lecture theatre for the briefing, there were only 2 choices left - orienteering and volleyball. Aerobics, which I intended to join initially, is not available for our session, so I'm still pretty fine with volleyball.

After school, went to NAC for lunch with Amanda and accompanied her to work. Also visited Jacqueline 'cause I know it's damn boring to be working at OC. LOL. Happened to meet Emma and Hong too as they were reporting for the PM shift.

On the way home, I was thinking about the clothes that I have to bring for the study trip. Then I suddenly thought about the jacket from Sixties Inspired which I wanted to get a few months back. I should have struck fast! I hesitated for too long and there were no more stocks for the colour that I wanted! The jacket is rather thick, which is bound to be able to keep warm in colder climates. Moreover, it was selling at half-price at $29.90, which is damn worthy!

Pandorum

Pandorum is a psychological condition resulting from extended periods of suspended animation (Wikipedia: the slowing of life processes by external means without termination). Symptoms include paranoia, hallucinations and uncontrolled shiverings.

Caught this movie with Martin, Lester, Audrey and Ling today. Honestly, I don't really like it. Throughout the whole movie the scenes were dark and gloomy, evoking ominous feelings and foreboding imminent doom. It is not just science fiction alone, this is a sci-fi thriller, where you can anticipate the appearances of cannibalistic creatures in most scenes.

What's worse was that, all of us entered the theatre with no clue about the story plot, except for me who managed to read up a little before that. So we don't even have any idea of what's in for us.

This is probably my worst experience at the cinema. Throughout the movie I was wishing for it to end quickly. The extreme air-con temperature in the cinema adds on to the misery too. It just felt like I was paying to get scared by those horror scenes, which I think were much scarier than the gory shows that I have watched. But at least, the ending was a pleasant one.

Anyway, the funny thing was that Martin actually bought cai-fan into the cinema! I was waiting for him to jolt up from his seat and spill his rice all over, hahaha.

School starts early tomorrow, I gotta turn in now!

The reluctance to let go...

Letting go of the things that I have been doing for the past 7 weeks. It's become a routine, a habit. And you know, routines are hard to change once you get used to it.

The consecutive working days, in order to receive a more gratifying paycheck on the next payday.

Those morning trips to Ya Kun for breakfast or brunch when we are supposed to be working already. Shh~

My daily roundabouts to the Candy Shop, the extent that I go to just to look at that pretty and fanciful candy. Just like how a little girl will be thrilled. :) Tomorrow onwards, I will only be able to drop by once or twice a week.

The many different ways that the Concierge team attempted to keep ourselves entertained at work. How I asked them to take the escalator instead of the lift in order to pass time and so that we have more time to... gossip. XD

How we plan our 'escape routes' in the event when the management appears.

How elated we can get when 'nam seng' is not working, and how we look forward to her knocking off.

Through these 7 weeks, I feel that I have become much more attached to my fellow working pals. They bring tremendous joy to my life at boring OC, seriously.

Live Report from OC

Hey hey! I'm blogging from the Concierge counter. The live Jazz band is playing now and I really like the voice of the female singer. She just sang I'm Yours and it was superb! :) Actually, there's nothing much for us to do now since it's already after 10pm and most of the shops have pulled down their shutters.

Amanda came to look for me after she knocked off, since she's working nearby. Then we had soup together. And my goodness, I saw Mr. Eye-candy! Okay actually at that level it's expected 'cause he is just there all the time hahaha. Then Amanda asked if I talked to him, LOL. Just once, if it's even considered 'talking', which was when he asked me to help him with something. That's our only conversation.

Okay red alert now. Management staff on the move, gotta get back to our respective positions. Bye!

Loots = Cash out = Decreasing figures

But those numbers don't just go down unnecesarily. I have the habit of considering for quite some time before I get something. So I believe that I'm doing a worthy 'investment'. Think on the positive and economic side, I'm actually doing some good for the economy. Me alone may have little impact, but hey, I'm not the only person spending in the market right! :)

Got a few folders for organisation purposes when school starts.

Met up with Ling Ling after work for a while. Ling intended to get sneakers, but there were no more stocks for the right size. That pair of Converse sneakers is really nice, I like it too. Eventually things ended up with me getting a jacket instead. Had been eyeing it for some time and I happen to have a Converse voucher to utilise at the right time :D

There are 3 colours available and I think white is the nicest. On top of that, white reflects heat! So I can use it to double up as a protection from sun without getting too much of the heat. ^^

It's Decided.

The 11 of us from IBZ are flying to Tokyo during end November. Hope that this will be a fun, fulfilling and enriching trip. :)

Just done with my research on airfares not long ago. I think it's cool that we get to decide which airline we prefer to take. JAL looks like a good choice haha.

Working tomorrow and I must not be late 'cause there is a meeting with the management! And tell me if I'm unlucky or not - I am one of the 10 mobile concierge selected to assist with some supposedly important event that will be attended by the spouses of high net worth people. Time is from 7 plus in the morning till noon time. BUT THEN,

Today.

Today is 25 September 2009.
The 4th week of my vacation is coming to an end. A few more weeks later, I will be going back to school, starting a brand new semester. I want to and will work harder to attain better results.

Today, I saved a butterfly and set it free at work. I felt a sense of accomplishment. After all, it is still a life in question.

Today, I went for lunch with Yanni at Ya Kun Kaya Toast. Hot toasts with half boiled eggs and a cup of hot tea can never go wrong together. By the way, the eggs are rather big too. We felt very full after that and even gave a piece of kaya toast to Coreen.

Today, I went shopping with Coreen after work. I came across some things that I felt like buying, but I wanna wait for payday...

AND THE BEST PART ABOUT TODAY IS THAT...

My paycheck for August has been mailed to me today!

Thanks to Coreen for texting me regarding this. If not I would not have realised that there was a letter from FEO sitting on my laptop and waiting for me to open it. Was a little over the moon even though the pay amount isn't that much as I worked lesser the last month. But I'm catching up for this month. :)

Shirleen made my day today!

Haha Shirleen I know you are reading this and you are damn happy now! But really, you have injected my dull working day on a weekend with so much fun. Especially when we carried the 5 gallons of water from the management office down to the Concierge counter! The water container was really heavy and we decided to call Daniel Tan for help. But somehow, by the time he came up, we already managed to carry whole container up and to the lift. When we reached the entrance of the mall, our hands gave way and the 5 gallons of water rolled off our hands! The sight was damn funny. We then decided if we should just roll it back to the counter by kicking it. But we still carried it back and when we finally reached the counter, we lost grip of it and it just dropped onto the floor with a loud 'THUD'. Great workout. We really should volunteer to carry water containers for the dispenser next time. :D

After knocking off, we met up with Daniel Yee and walked along the stretch of Orchard Road aimlessly. We then ended up at Ion Orchard. I now have a few new things added on my To-Get list.

1) Burberry Perfume (at half price LOL)
2) Cosmetic brushes. Perhaps getting from Jacqueline at Missha since we will get to enjoy staff discount. :)
3) Accessories from Topshop. It's something that I really really like at the first sight, and also cheaper as compared to Six Accessories.

But I'm still waiting for my paycheck. It is late for more than a month. All of us are getting impatient. Seriously, I think the organisation is very inefficient. How long do you really need to process the salaries? If other companies can pay their employees on time, I don't see why you can't.

On a happier note, Joey is working tomorrow! Looking forward to see her, and Emma too!

Impending Doom... No?

Obviously there was no earthquake, neither were there any tsunamis. Totally having one of the greatest I-told-you-so moments. Really wonder why those people would believe silly (perhaps even superstitious) rumours that the solar eclipse will spell impending doom, that would endanger all of our lives. Furthermore, experts have already dispelled those untrue claims. Yet many were still paranoid about it.

But anyway, I woke up to a gloomy sky with rain this morning. Does it have anything to do with the eclipse? Since the past few days were sunny, you see.

On a side note, I'm quite relieved now 'cause my damn Micro Econs tutor finally approved our article. And Heng Ling and I have barely one week to finish the analysis report. Way to go!

5th Day At Work

Natalia let me make an announcement today! It was quite fun to hear your own voice booming over the sound system in the whole mall, spanning for more than 10 levels. When some of the guys returned to the concierge counter, they were asking who made the announcement. Haha. Whenever we hear an announcement at some other parts of the mall, we would try to guess the person who made the announcement.

And I finally got the opportunity to explore the higher levels of the mall. For the past few shifts, I was only assigned to Level 1 and B1. Love the Verandah sections, beautiful. Bet it would be even more spectacular when all the shops and restaurants are fully opened. Shall try to go up to the roof garden at the top floor next time. :D

I'm getting busier and the coming week will be one of the most hectic throughout the school term. Group presentations, projects for every module (thank goodness we were done with the major Life Management project last Friday!) and upcoming tests. But I like being busy in this way because it actually pushes me to finish up the things that I'm supposed to do. Also, it makes me feel.... IMPORTANT! Like that everyone-needs-me kind of busy. It's true to a large extent 'cause my group members will need me and I have different group members for different projects. A little tacky to meet up due to different timings available.

And I'm supposed to get back to preparing my script for tomorrow's presentation. Must really do well 'cause I was so close to an 'A' the previous time! So the next time that I'll be back will probably be... Wait a minute, let me check my organiser.

And many other labels that we gave each other! LOL. Like... Compu-nerd! Or basically just nerd, when we were mugging hard for exams during our graduating year in secondary school.

Met this bitch-buddy in the school library today and we were crapping away for the next 2 to 3 hours. Also involved Xuanny in the crapping session! ^^ (When are we going for Kbox!!!)

Guess this is only the second time we took pictures together, Prom Night being the first. Haha.

Yet another Sunday with Samantha!

Along with Jay and his friend, Christopher. And Samantha can't help commenting that Jay looks like Jay. As in Jay Chou. Haha! I think he looks better than Jay Chou, however.

Met up with Sammy to do our make-up before meeting up with Jay and Chris. We had truckloads of fun all the way. And oh ya, the new Cinnamon Melt at McDonald's is great! Just that some parts of it will turn soggy from being drenched in the melted cinnamon sugar. Woohoo I just love cinnamon flavoured stuff!

I'm only posting this shot up 'cause my dear Shrimpy friend likes this. HAHA. She likes having half her face cut off?

This song has impacted me deeply ever since I heard it and learnt to sing it when I was young. When I think of Michael Jackson, I'm immediately reminded of Heal The World. Anyway, Mum cooked Mapo Tofu as one of the dishes for dinner today! Yummy. I think that it can be even spicier. We were just accommodating Chris' taste buds.

I slept for more than 10 hours, waking up only in the noon. Seriously, I have not had such a long and gratifying beauty sleep for... I forgot how long it has been. I woke up and felt really rejuvenated and recharged to start a new day.

And I have finally gotten the pictures from Von! Nobody else except Samantha (special privilege haha!) has seen this series of shoot. So I'm here sharing with my dear sweet readers now.

The first 4 photos are taken by Von at the salon, right after he's done with my new hairstyle.

Bad angle. The volume of the hair, adding on to my already-big head, makes me look like Tweety Bird. -.-

It was rather hard for me to bring out the expression this shoot. The theme surrounds a confident corporate lady, and Von doesn't want a smiley Cheryl. He wants me to look CONFIDENT! He commented that I already have the sweet-looking kind of face, and if I smile, I would spoil everything. LOL.

Got to compliment both Von and Chester, one is a skilful and experienced hairstylist, and the other, a photographer who's rather recognised for his artistic works. Really love the outcome.

And lastly, all the best to Von for the competition! This might be a tad late, haha. I'm still considering his request to be his long term model. Although it may just be a verbal contract, somehow I don't like being bounded to things like contracts. Hmm...
